Die, Yuppie Scum!

The Car Phone puts its message right up front: It's a protest against the remorseless pace of "progress," the marketing-team driven dogma that newer is always better. It questions whether technology is truly Man's servant . . . or in fact his master.

The figure of a Yuppie is crafted from 3/8" plywood and dressed in a genuine Johnny Carson label wide-lapel suit. The yuppie holds a cell phone in one outstretched hand and a laptop in the other. Despite his best efforts to keep ahead of the curve, the yuppie still falls victim to the relentless pace of technological change, symbolized by the bloody keyboard impaling him.
