Thunder Egg Fountain

Completed in 1970, Thunder Egg Fountain sings at the joyous heart of the Walker Rock Garden. Jets of water spurt at high pressure from pipes concealed in the rock, converging in interlacing arcs, falling inwards into a central pool, then spilling back through four arches to wet and shine the fountain's massive base, decorated with groups of handsome geological specimens. The refreshing splash of the fountain is one of the subtle delights of a visit to the Walker.
