Built on a remote mountaintop near Amherst, Mass. by Asian Buddhist expatriates, the beautiful Peace Pagoda recreates the authentic stupa form of the earliest Buddhist temples in India and Southeast Asia. Gilded Buddha statues adorn the temple, whose white dome is reflected in the pool of an adjoining landscape garden.
