Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia

Atlantic rollers shatter with awesome fury on the cliffs of the Middle Head, a rocky headland thrusting into the center of Ingonish Bay. Across the bay, 1100-foot Cape Smokey looms through the mist. The Middle Head, home of the Keltic Lodge, is minutes from the fabled Cabot Trail, winding through spectacular Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Larry Neilson's photos of the region were featured recently in Yankee Magazine's Travel Guide to New England and Atlantic Canada.
