On Memorial Day we'll have a dozen Art Cars on display to whet your appetite for Blowout 2003. Everett's "Cruising to Colby" car show, which also features more than 500 hot rods, classic and antique cars, will be enlivened with some crazy creativity from the Art Car fraternity, appearing in front of the Monte Cristo Hotel. We'll also be decorating an Elantra on camera and making it Washington's newest Art Car before your very eyes!
June 14-15: Combine Demo Derby in Lind, WA
A hoot! Old harvesting combines are decorated and lumber around in a titanic demo derby in this antique Eastern Washington town. Day Two is an old-fashioned rodeo. Contact Kelly for more info.
June 19-21: Art Car Blowout in Seattle!
Parade and Art Car Expo in Fremont DistrictOur fifth year! As a part of the Fremont Fair, we'll show off some 80 amazing Art Cars in Seattle's Fremont District in a weekend of joyous celebration. The weekend's events will feature the fabulous Fremont Solstice Parade on June 21, while our art cars are displayed few blocks away; free concerts and performances at the Fremont Fair; the Solstice Pageant at Gasworks Park at 4 on Saturday; art car books, videos, screen savers, posters, and paintings on sale throughout the weekend; a frenzied set by our own Art Car outer-space rockabilly band, the Phenomenauts; and an Art Car parade from Golden Gardens through Ballard and Fremont on Sunday, June 22. Our parade will include schoolchildren from Fremont's B.F. Day School who have made their very own Art Car this spring. We'll process through the throngs of Art Car aficionados into the Fremont Fairgrounds while the public watches with bemused delight.

We'll parade past the adoring throngs at the Greenwood Seafair Parade and take home a shiny gold trophy to Dr. Dharma's Greenwood abode for a rockin' wrap party.

A festive international art car gathering in beautiful Vancouver! Friday visits to Vancouver and "North Van" elementary schools. Drive-arounds hit Stanley Park, Spanish Banks, Kitsilano Beach, Jericho Park, the Lion's Gate Bridge and other scenic delights; expo at Waterside Park, near Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver. A benefit for the Food Banks of Greater Vancouver, with parties galore!

September 25-28: ArtCar Fest
Art Car Expo in the San Francisco Bay AreaThe West Coast's biggest Art Car gathering, hosted by Harrod Blank and Philo Northrup! Last year's fabulous Fest featured 100 Art Cars in popular caravans through of the Castro and Haight-Ashbury districts; an expo at Golden Gate Park; an all-day extravaganza at the San Jose Museum of Art; a rockin' blow-out at the Ace Junkyard; and the "How Berkeley Can You Be" Festival and Parade. We'll be back in San Jose, Berkeley, and all the other fun venues in '03! Buy raffle tickets for a free trip to ArtCar Fest '03 - proceeds benefit the Seattle Art Car Blowout!
October 4-5: Art Cars Meet Kinetic Skulptures!
Kinetic Skulpture Race in Port Townsend, WashingtonAmazing sculpted, human-powered vehicles compete in a road race, slurp through a messy mud bog, and negotiate a waterborne leg around Port Townsend's beautiful harbor. Fun parade with skulptures and art cars on Saturday. Kinetic Ball and Kinetic Kueen Kontest Saturday night, and awards ceremony Sunday after the Race. Art Cars participate in parade through downtown Port Townsend, a picturesque Victorian seaport. Pictures of kinetic sculptures to come: Watch our site!
