The ROYAL HUDSON steam train was operated by B.C. Rail, running from Vancouver, B.C. up the scenic fjord of HOWE SOUND to Squamish, during the 1990s. The historic locomotive, built in 1940 at the Canadian Pacific shops in Montréal, is a high-wheeling 4-6-4 Hudson type passenger engine. The one used for the B.C. ride is the sister of the locomotive which drew the royal train across Canada when King George and Queen Mary toured the Dominion to solidify support for Britain on the eve of World War II.
