Larry Neilson is a brilliant portrait photographer. He is able to capture the twinkle, the telling gesture, the shy giggle or the force of character that animates a particular personality. Larry's series of candid black-and-white portraits, REAL PEOPLE (two of which are shown above), has been seen in many of the 50 one-man shows he has presented from coast to coast. Neilson has been hired to photograph leading citizens and political movers and shakers of the nation, including King County Executive Ron Sims, Congressmen Jim McDermott, Jay Inslee, and Dennis Kucinich, Presidential candidate Howard Dean, former Governor Mike Lowry, Sherriff Dave Reichert, Senator Patty Murray, and a host of political activists: Tom Hayden, Jim Hightower, Ani deFranco and Holly Near among them. Larry is also known as a chronicler of the wild happenings in the streets of the Rainy City.Larry Neilson also has a long and successful record as a wedding photographer, in events from formal church weddings with all the trimmings to highly unconventional ceremonies.
