Steve Anderson’s Artist Statement

Steve says:  “My commitment as an artist is to create public art that first causes us as a community to engage. Secondly, it inspires a connection with the artwork, losing oneself in the created space, stirring the imagination, becoming more deeply related to our sacred role to nurture the natural world.”

Steve Anderson has lived and worked for decades in the Fremont / Ballard neighborhoods of Seattle. He has been working professionally as a sculptor of fine and commercial art for over 13 years. His most recognized sculpture is the “Picardo Venus,” which was commissioned by the Picardo Farm P-Patch Garden in Seattle. By making his own art as well as by assisting many established artists in creating their own bronze and stone works, Steve has developed skills to produce sculptural work in styles ranging from abstract design to detailed realism.
