The NEVADA CAR is one of the baroque art car creations of David Best, a California-based artist and educator. Best's technique is to get a grant or sponsor to pull a community together on a car-making project. For some time the participants mull over their concept and collect material to use in decorating the vehicle. Best does his best to orchestrate a concept, create structural modifications as required to fulfill the concept, prep the vehicle for "arting," and coordinate the weekend workshop where all the stuff gets glued on. He then adds finishing touches and moves the vehicle on to the new owners. The car 
then speaks its creators' intentions eloquently on the road and on display, as did this customized International truck which Best gave to his assitant, Patrick, one of the mad doyennes of the ArtCar world. The late Hunter S. Thompson had nothing on Patrick, lifestyle-wise.
