Dr. Schlock -- Heironymous P. Schlockmeyer, Ll.D. to be precise -- is a shady small-time politico and sometime con man plying the notorious Northwest opium den circuit. How he got involved with Seattle Street Art, eventually rising to become Resident Schlockmeister, makes a dark and sinister tale. For a time, back when he was running for Garbage Commissioner, it looked as though some of the dirt on Schlock might leak out, but instead he managed to deep-six the evidence, narrowly sidestepping the long arm of the Law. Click here for a thrilling description of Dr. Schlock's Epiphany.

Dr. Schlock has plumbed new depths of depravity in the past few years as Seattle's Art Car Guru, ringleading (with spotted sidekick Kelly Lyles) the outrageous antics of SASS's Art Car Squadron--a well-known den of pinko Commie rats. Schlock and his fellow Art Car subversives appeared on TV once in '97 and twice in '98, discussing the Art Car movement with host John Stofflet and national Art Car guru Harrod Blank, on KING-5's Evening Magazine. Also recently, Schlock became the target of a raunchy expose in the Winter '98 issue of Vassar Quarterly, that standard-bearer of the Gutter Press. VQ has told all about this medical renegade in a tour-de-force of hard-hitting investigative journalism which would make even Kenneth Starr grovel and plead for mercy! Now in newsstands everywhere.

Our second photo (right) shows the Doctor with his kindred spirit, Wavy Gravy, at the '99 "How Berkeley Can You Be" Festival, where Seattleites joined Bay Area Art Cars and vehicles from across the nation in an outrageous Parade at Art Car Fest '99. At that time this historic photo was captured by Schlock's Nikki the Nikon.
