Ruby Montana is Seattle's reigning Queen of Kitsch. She has operated the region's largest Kitsch Emporium, Ruby Montana's Pinto Pony, in the Pioneer Square neighborhood for 17 years. (Kitsch decor fans note: Ruby's fabulous collection of silly salt and pepper shakers and other wares is available by catalog - a catalog featuring wild airbrush art by SASS guru Scott McDougall!) Ruby recently moved her Cosmic Cowpoke Headquarters up Second Avenue to the Pike Place Market neighborhood. Ruby also brokers period diner furniture, lighting fixtures, neon, and signage; vintage kitchen appliances, too! And as if that wasn't enough, Ruby co-sponsors the fabulous Spam Carving Contest held every Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras) weekend in Occidental Square. In 1997 Ruby was honored as a guest on the national radio quiz program, "Wha'Dya Know?", starring Michael Feldman, broadcast live from Seattle's magnificent Paramount Theatre. Ruby Montana is simply essential to Seattle's kitschy kounterkulture!
