GARRY GOLIGHTLY, Seattle's beloved Bubble Man, brings a
bucket of soapy solution, an impressive array of bubble-blowing paraphernalia, and a
cheery smile and whistle with him whenever he gives one of his performances for kids of
all ages. He shares his "bubbleosophy" (inner harmony as a route to
environmental balance and outward peace) with audiences around the world. So far his
travels have taken him to Russia, Central and Western Europe, Australia, Japan, and the
British Isles. Garry's mission is to go where there is misery and bring joy.
Bubble Man's irridescent purple Bubble Van is a common
sight at Greenlake on sunny afternoons. It--and he--were important parts of the 1999 and
2000 Seattle Art Car Blow-Outs and our program of
visits to local elementary schools. Bubble Man, Al Bartell, Leopard Lady, and
other legends of the Art Car movement were featured on TV. American Journeys and
the Car Crazy cable program both documented the cream of Seattle car artists in
feature broadcasts in 2000. VHS cassettes are available for $25 + S/H, on request.
