The Hendrix Van is one of the most exuberant Microbuses on the streets of Seattle. Painted in acrylics over a 2-year period by Jason Potts for his friend Carl, the van depicts views of Hendrix on one side, together with salmon and wild swirls of color which suggest the surreal poetry and soaring guitar licks that characterized Jimi's music. The other side has a comic scene of hippies at a rock concert in the country, while their Microbuses and RV's run amok. The van's front is yellow with black doodles done in a "finger-painting" style, and the tailgate is a blaze of psychedelic lettering and band stickers.
