Mural by Joey "the Paintbrush" Lovano

This small panel is a part of the signage for the Second Time Around used CD/audio shop on The Ave in Seattle's University District.

It is a convincing demonstration of Joey "the Paintbrush"'s ability to conjure up a multi-layered, mythical reality with careful brushwork. Here Seattle's nondescript modern skyscrapers are transformed into green castle turrets; its choking traffic is turned into a parade of high-wheeled bicycles. Spiders weave welcoming messages from the roofs of the KeyArena and Space Needle, while giant frogs climg the castle towers and pirate ships navigate the Bay, and pneumatic monorails loop over the velodrome. Dragons snake through the sky, and a mysterious woman whose hair grows into forest twigs, parts the thicket on the left. Another bravura performance from the Paintbrush!
