ARMORCLAD FLOORS: Logo by Larry Neilson
Armorclad Floors is an installer of high-quality industrial and residential flooring whose client list includes the Space Needle and the Seattle Aquarium. At the request of business owner Bert Bradley, Larry made a high-quality rendition of the firm's sketch logo using Freehand 4 on the Mac. Operations included generating the outline shape of the shield, drawing the contour lines and filling them with hundreds of gradations of grey (for B&W and 2-color printing), and adding the red type on a path with black drop shadow and knockout. A second version was prepared with a solid color shield for hot-foil stamp on the firm's capabilities brochure and die-cut folders. All pieces were designed using Quark Xpress 3.3.2 on the PowerMac. Design of logo and marketing materials was conducted in 1995-96.
