details of this magnificent Art Car, created over a period of 5 years by Seattle's own
"Dr. Schlock."
The Buddha Buggy was featured at the Tacoma Art Museum's Family Folk Art Fest June 3, 2001, and at the San Jose Museum of Art in Sept. 2002 and Sept. 2003. It was featured in the Portland Madcap Motorcade in 1997 and 1998, in the Seattle Art Car Blow-Out, 1999-2003; the Vancouver (Canada) Funky ArtCar Fest, 2000-2003; and the San Francisco ArtCar Fest, 1999-2003. Sadly, the 19½-year-old car went to the crusher in 2008, after 459,000 miles of fun. All the extant artwork was rescued, and is available for reuse in the car's next reincarnation. |
